DRUMMER VIDEO UPLOADS

Welcome drummers! We are excited to have you join a PSRS band but we need to see your ability level first. This will help us determine if you are ready for a PSRS band and if so, which band will be the best fit. A few points:

We have LOTS of students interested in playing the drums and unlike guitar or vocals, we can only have one drummer playing at a time. We give preference to returning students and we will do our best to get everyone enrolled but we may need to put a few students on our waiting list. This will all be decided when we form our bands.

In order to give the PSRS band experience to as many drummers as possible, we often have TWO drummers in a band - they will each play a song on drums and a different instrument on another song. We think this is a great opportunity for drummers to expand their musical abilities and it can be incredibly beneficial to their rhythm skills. In most situations, we can get them rocking on another instrument, even with no prior experience.

The drums are one of the most important (and loudest) instruments in a band. They are the rhythmic backbone of a band and all the other instruments rely on the drums for their groove and tempo. While our youngest students in our Bandmates Program (8-10) do not need to have experience on the instrument, we do ask that older students (11-18) have a basic level on the drums before joining a band. A basic backbeat will suffice.

In order to be considered for a band at PSRS, we ask that you take 2 minutes to complete the Google Form below where you will upload a short video of you playing drums. This does not need to be a long video or a stressful audition : we just want to see your tempo and rhythm skills, comfort behind the drum kit and maybe a few fills (only if you know some).
