Another great Songwriting and Recording Session has come and gone in Brooklyn. We can’t wait to get back in the studio again at the end of the year. In the meantime, have a listen to these awesome songs.
Come one, come all. Our winter concert at La Bellevilloise is right around the corner! Join us for an epic afternoon of music and awesomeness, featuring 19 of our fall semester bands.
No, your eyes do not deceive you! We are partnering with the Conservatoire Georges Bizet (20eme) to present a concert celebrating Claude Debussy and his alter ego, Monsieur Croche, who embraced all genres of music. Three PSRS bands will be performing rock covers and original songs, alongside solo piano performances by the students of the conservatoire. One of our bands will finish the concert with their own unique interpretation of a Debussy classic. You will not want to miss this one!
Free and open to the public.
One of our veteran PSRS Paris Adult Bands, FORGET ME NOT, packed their bags and headed to Brooklyn to attend our Songwriting and Recording Camp. One week later, they had 3 songs written and visited the beautiful Bunker Studios for an epic recording session. These ladies picked up their instruments for the first time last year and we are so pleased with their development, not to mention their amazing enthusiasm for the band experience!
Have a listen to our favorite song from the camp, Milky Way, below.
We are so proud of our PSRS Paris band MARTIAL, who took the stage this past weekend at La Cigale for the third annual Stereokids festival. It was a real treat for the band to share the stage with Pedro Winter, Justice, Chassol and other great acts. And to play to 1500 people at La Cigale, well that's just awesome.
Many thanks to all who came out to our most recent Artist Series with Lou Doillon! We shared a beautiful evening with Lou, discussing her artistic intentions, listening to some vinyl and performing her music with a band of PSRS students. Thanks to La Bellevilloise for helping create a beautiful setting and a big thanks to Lou for being so generous. We're looking forward to the next one!
Park Slope Rock School PARIS is proud to host Never Dim It Down: An Evening with Lou Doillon on May 16th, at Le Loft at La Bellevilloise.
For this intimate event, Lou Doillon and PSRS Founder Jason Domnarski will discuss the creative process, specifically the celebration of vulnerability, individuality and the human element behind musical creation – a rarity in the auto-tuned, highly edited world of current pop music. They will explore these ideas through listening examples, readings and performances of cover songs selected by Lou. The event will culminate in a performance of her original music, in which students from PSRS Paris will accompany the artist on stage.
Tickets are 10€ with proceeds to benefit UNICEF.
